Questioning CLAL

Daniel Septimus of MyJewishLearning looks at the CLAL homepage and wonders:

there seems to be some indication that CLAL — which is Hebrew for
(something like) “community” — is becoming a platform for the media
blitz of two individuals: Kula and (Vice President) Hirschfield.

There’s nothing fundamentally wrong with this, but I’m curious if
this is indeed a change in mission and how this change came about.

I would not quite characterize it that way. Many organizations run some kind of notice about their people being in the news lately. Speaking to Brad Hirschfield, I am left with the impression that these projects are just additions to the work they are already doing.
