Which way will Joe go?

Radley Balko predicts:
But here's my bold prediction: Joe Lieberman will switch parties -- a couple of months into the next Congress. He'll do it with an eye on 2008, possibly as a presidential candidate. At the very least, he won't caucus with the Democrats, perhaps in anticipation of an independent McCain-Lieberman ticket. The press will fawn over the possibility. Libertarians will weep.

not for nothing, but Joe has already said that he will caucus with the Democrats. How that palys out is anybody's guess, but
I think this event in CT has done lot to revive his political career.

Watch the Dems lavish digital, oral and all other favors on Joe, who stands to gain much more by being aright-wing Democrat than a liberal Republican. I know you despise the guy, Larry, so do I -- I gave Lamont $25, you know, best money I ever spent. Now Joe's been bitch slapped, got over it, survived the tremor and is hungry for goodies.

As to whether or not Joe wants a fifth term in 2012 - he is 64, will be 70 in '12. He's going to want more. So, not only will Joe not be leaving the Dems, watch for the party bigs figuring out ways of repatriating him. By next Labor Day there will be a sulcha.
