Engadget has the details behind these media players which sure look like tefillin to me.


When I spent 4 weeks at Aish Hatorah in the mid-1980s, and I remember telling one of the BT's that I was surprised at the cost of a set of tefillin.

"But you would spend that amount on a stereo," he said.

When I counteredthat a stereo system was a sophisticated piece of technology that perfectly reproduces the world's great music, he was nonplussed (or plussed? which one means "unruffled"?). "When you wear tefillin" he said, "it's like tuning in the greatest music of all."

Which is either really lovely or gag-inducing, depending where you are on the irono-religious spectrum.
