A delegation sent by President Bush to Ukraine's presidential inauguration last weekend included a Ukrainian-American activist who has accused Jews of manipulating the Holocaust for their gain and blamed them for Soviet-era atrocities in Ukraine."Big money drives the Holocaust industry," Myron B. You know, there is big money in Holocaust preservation memorial stuff, like all memorials and all govt. funded sentiments. Are we perchance oversensitive or does paranoia simply feel safer? I don't know myself. This week I was forced to strike from my own publication an editorial that called for a moratorium on the use of 9/11 in public expressons and in gift shops. I was pursuaded by a sponsor that this would not be greeted kindly by my readership. So it turns out you can't go wrong with sentimentalism, and you can lose a creer over daring to say what you think. Personally I always opt for the chikenshit path. If the chikens feel safe there, it's good enough for me.
