A kiddush hashem from Shmuley on Scarborough Country

Thanks to Dov Bear for linking to MSNBC - 'Scarborough Country' where only the Jews are sane. One is an atheist. The other: Rabbi Boteach:
God said, do not kill. He said, life is precious. So we have to come before him. And the word Israel means to fight with God, to wrestle with God and say, how do you allow this kind of thing? We are not cosmic chaff. We have a right to be angry. It's an honest religious relationship.

Actually, the word Israel means to rule over God and men, so it in effect means to be God, if you will. Whre did the good rabbi get his struggle thing I can only guess, as the title was bestowed on Jacob FOLLOWING a struggle with God's angel.

In my book Rabbi Boteach broke the 11th commandment, Thy shall not start a sentence with Judaism says, even though he attributed his personal product directly to the Creator of the Universe.

Besides the right to be angry, our traditional response is to search for our own share in the responsibility as Jews. As Rashi puts it in plain sight in this week's parsha, God brings plagues on goyim so that the Jews will learn a lesson and fear Him. We should all look for our own deeds as the cause of the Tsunami, especially mine.
